Road Trip Days 6 & 7

While it is always nice to come home, I could have happily continued our road trip for another week!!  Here are some pix from our last few days on the road!

We stopped at the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm on our way out of Tenessee - kids loved riding the ponies around this pretty place!

Our little cow girl!
Trip Advisor took excellent care of us on the road.  We drove through Knoxville on our way home and it directed us to a fabulous restaurant called Sunspot. Amiel was excited to have a bourbon flight with lunch.  My veggie taco was unbelievable and our fruit cobbler had little bits of jalepeno in it - yum.  Will definitely plan to drive through Knoxville on our next road trip!!

Spent the last night of our trip at the Tucker House B&B in Louisville, KY.  The home was built in the 1840's and has been faithfully restored with antiques from the time.  After dropping off our bags, we went to a fabulous Cuban restaurant (second awesome Cuban meal of the trip).  There was live music and Anne danced the night away!

There was a little bed for Elijah but he opted to sleep on this couch instead.  Amiel heard him roll off in the middle of the night - I must have been exhausted as I didn't hear a thing.

We feasted on a three course breakfast and then explored the grounds before hitting the road.

The old spring house was overgrown with an orange flowered plant - jewel weed!!

Pretty plants!

Hard to go home after such a fun trip so we drove straight to Savta's for a swim and pizza dinner!!

These photos at the Admiral really capture the spirit trip.  Anne with tussled hair and wild-eyed look of mischief.  Elijah handsome and patiently doting on her.  They had their squabbles but were very sweet for the whole trip. It was especially entertaining to see them play in the cabin - Elijah created the "time machine" and "don't touch me" games.  They loved jumping on our bed and snuggling on the recliner.  After finishing dinner at the Admiral, Elijah stayed for a sleep over with Savta.  Anne cried "Elijah" all the way to the car, she couldn't bear to leave her big brother behind.
